Here’s How Pevco Tracker™ works: Before a carrier is sent, every element is scanned and documented with a PDA barcode reader by the staff person initiating the transaction, including: • A barcode on their badge Once the scans are complete, the staff person selects whether they want a standard transaction or a secure transaction, places the loaded carrier in the station and initiates the delivery by pressing the “send” button on |
While the carrier travels through the system, it is sighted by optical sensors at various stages of the delivery and the resulting data is stored in the Pevco Tracker™ database.
When the carrier arrives at its destination in a standard transaction, the carrier automatically drops into the station and the staff person receiving the carrier confirms delivery by scanning the barcode on the carrier. Depending on the hospital’s preference, they may also scan their badge, a barcode representing their station and the contents.
If the carrier was sent as a secure transaction, the staff person must scan their badge and a barcode on the receiving station to release the carrier into the station. Once the carrier drops into the station, the staff person completes the process by scanning the carrier and contents, and then pressing the “accept” button.
Once the scans are complete and the “accept” button is pressed, the staff person who initiated the transaction receives a confirmation message on their PDA indicating the transaction is complete.
All of the scanned information, as well as detailed timing data for each stage of every transaction, is stored in the Pevco Tracker database and retrievable through a Pevco Tracker™ PDA or a password protected intranet web site – all in real-time.
