Pevco’s Dave Rogers honored for Craftsmanship at Baltimore’s Mercy Hospital

Baltimore, MD (November 5, 2010) – Pevco, a leading provider of pneumatic tube delivery systems to the healthcare industry, today announced that Pevco Foreman, David J. Rogers has been recognized by the Baltimore Congress and Building Exchange for his work on the pneumatic tube system installed in the Mary Catherine Bunting Center at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. Mr. Rogers has been awarded the 2010 Annual Craftsmanship Award for meticulously completing the installation of Pevco’s Smart Path™, a proprietary pneumatic tube routing system, on the 7th floor Mezzanine.

Mr. Rogers was nominated for the Building Congress and Exchange’s annual award by the project’s General Contractor, Whiting-Turner. The nomination cites Mr. Roger’s skilled craftsmanship and years of experience. Dave, a resident of Fallston, Maryland has been a steamfitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 486 for 22 years and has worked with Pevco for more than 18 years.

“Pevco is pleased by the Building Congress and Exchange’s recognition of Dave Rogers. His dedication to his craft and years of experience make him a deserving recipient,” stated Fred Valerino, President of Pevco.

Dave is responsible for fabricating the lengths of tubing to exact design specifications and leading the construction of the pneumatic tube system on-site. The system incorporates diverters, blowers and pneumatic tubing to route carriers throughout Mercy Hospital to its 54 pneumatic tube stations. Hospital pneumatic tube systems are used to deliver pharmacy products, lab specimens and medical supplies throughout large hospital facilities and medical campuses.

The Building Congress & Exchange annual award honored the talents and accomplishments of twenty building trades crafters at an awards program recently held at the Boumi Temple in White Marsh.
