Baltimore, MD (May 11, 2011) – Pevco, a leading provider of pneumatic tube delivery systems to the healthcare industry, today announced a new on-site training program for hospital engineering teams. Focusing on maintenance and operational best practices, Pevco’s on-site training teaches the skills needed to ensure the pneumatic tube system operates at peak efficiency.
“Pevco created its on-site training program because we understand how difficult it is for engineering staff to take time away from the busy, 24/7 demands of a hospital, ” explained Ernie Gozzi, Customer Support Operations Manager at Pevco. “Offering training at the hospital reduces the engineer’s time away from the job while eliminating travel expenses.”
During the training, Pevco’s instructor uses a computer-based simulated pneumatic tube system that reproduces the hospital’s system design so participants can learn proper care of their exact system without interacting with the live system. System operation and analysis is taught using actual scenarios from the hospitals pneumatic tube transaction history. Mechanical and preventive maintenance is covered with a combination of classroom discussion and hands-on review.
Conducted in the convenience of the hospital’s conference facility, or other internal meeting space, on-site training can accommodate up to ten employees at one time. In addition to on-site training, Pevco offers factory training at both their Houston and Baltimore locations. Factory training teaches comprehensive hands-on maintenance techniques and advanced troubleshooting and alarm resolution procedures.
