Thriving company adds staff to better serve customers, meet growing demand for its systems
Baltimore, MD (January 31, 2013) – Pevco, a U.S. manufacturer focused exclusively on pneumatic tube systems (PTS) for hospitals, today announced that 2012 marked one of its most successful years in its 34-year history.
The year’s highlights include:
- Multiple hospitals upgraded from a competitor’s legacy PTS to a modern Pevco PTS
- Two major product releases – Pevco TEC-6™ and Pevco Link™
- The addition of 13 new full-time employees
”On many fronts, 2012 was the most successful year in our 34-year history,“ said Pevco President Fred Valerino, Jr. “We added staff to better serve our customers, we recorded strong financial results and we released two innovative products that help improve patient care while reducing hospital costs.“
Valerino continued, “Perhaps most rewarding, however, is the rate at which hospitals are upgrading to a Pevco PTS. Healthcare professionals are taking notice of our hardware innovation and software reliability – and they’re realizing if they’re dissatisfied with their current pneumatic tube system, we have an easy-to-implement, affordable and superior alternative.”
Pevco’s two major product releases last year were Pevco Link and Pevco TEC-6.
Pevco Link is a new touch control with integrated barcode tracking for PTS stations that makes operating a PTS as easy as using a tablet computer. With Pevco Link, delivering pharmaceuticals, specimens and blood products is fast, safe and simple. The product’s integrated barcode reader lets hospital staff track each item sent in the PTS from its origin to its destination – reducing waste and lost time. Individual transaction details are easily accessed at the PTS station using the touch control or complete transaction records are available through a secure web application.
Pevco TEC-6 (Trackable Ergonomic Carrier for 6-inch diameter pneumatic tube systems) offers advances in performance and durability to improve how busy healthcare professionals deliver patient care. TEC-6’s ergonomic design incorporates well-placed, comfortable hand-holds and contoured ends so staff can hold and load carriers more efficiently. Red/green latch status indicators help guarantee that carriers are closed properly. TEC-6 also includes integrated barcodes to enable real-time tracking of every delivery.
“When designing new products, we study how nursing, pharmacy and laboratory professionals use pneumatic tube systems in the course of their day,” Valerino said. “This intensive research combined with the substantial resources we devote to product development result in solutions – like TEC-6 and Pevco Link – that allow our customers to deliver patient care more reliably and efficiently.”
Pevco designs, manufactures, installs and supports hospital pneumatic tube systems that enable healthcare professionals to quickly, safely and reliably transport patient-critical materials between labs, pharmacies, blood banks, ORs, EDs and nursing stations. Used by more than 600 leading hospitals, Pevco’s flexible, intelligent products consistently reduce operating costs and are compatible with all competing pneumatic tube systems. Pevco was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Baltimore, with support staff positioned throughout North America. To learn more, visit www.pevco.com.
